Season Kick-off!

Thanks to recent publicity and a growing community of volunteers, the 2008-2009 season is off to a great start.



Our student recruitment efforts at Oakland Tech, the Castlemont Community of Small Schools, Rudsdale, and Farwest are well on their way. Thanks to the support of our Recruitment Team and Children's Hospital of Oakland, over one hundred students will be getting physicals over the next two weeks, in preparation for our first week of training at the end of September.



Our volunteer kick-off meeting on Saturday, Sept. 6, also generated a large turnout of both new and returning volunteers. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering during the upcoming season, you can learn more at our Volunteers page, or send your questions to Volunteer Coordinator Christine Chapon. If you have not yet filled out your volunteer paperwork, please contact Christine with any questions. And for new and returning volunteers who are already committed, please take a few minutes to fill out our volunteer survey and let us know about your background and interests so we can make sure we serve both our volunteers and students to the best of our ability.
