The website calendar will be updated soon. In the meantime, here are key dates for the upcoming season:
Saturday, Aug. 11: Team SRO kickoff with Marathon Matt, 8 a.m. Lake Merritt (see article in blog). If you miss the first meeting but are interested in participating in his half-marathon training program to raise money for SRO, contact him through his website, http://www.marathonmatt.com/.
Saturday, Sept. 8: Important orientation meeting for all new and returning volunteers at 9 a.m., location TBD. Spencer and others will go over plans for the season; we will also take care of necessary paperwork and fingerprinting for all volunteers. Questions? Contact SRO volunteer coordinator Christine Chapon.
Sept. 5 - 28: Student recruitment at participating high schools, which currently are Castlemont, McClymonds, and MetWest.
Saturday, Sept. 29: Five months of training begins!
